Branding is the process of giving a meaning to specific organisation, company, products or services by creating and shaping a brand in consumers' minds.  Branding for artists is important as good branding reveals the artists style, interests, personality which aligns with their music, beliefs and overall message they may be trying to get across to their audience.  An album cover, profile picture, website bios or merchandise can help people to recognise the artist without seeing them.  Skepta Skepta uses branding through his collaboration with Nike, to create his own shoe which is available for purchase to his fans. Skepta follows trends of popular style of shoes e.g. Air max 97s. This has helped Skepta to put his name out in the fashion industry as long with the music industry Skepta also released his own alcohol brand called, ' Havana club'. This has also fixed his identity into the alcohol industry and party scene which helps promote his brand to teenagers/young adults ...

Media Laws and ethical procedures

Our music video must adhere to media laws and ethical procedures. Ethical procedures include:  UK regulation- Broadcasted media is split into two categories; public service broadcasting (such as BBC) and commercial broadcasting (produced by private media companies) e.g ITV. To make sure we follow regulation rules, our music video will not include use of drugs, alcohol consumption, explicit language or violence. Both public service broadcasters and private ones are overseen by a regulator called Ofcom (office of communications)       2.  Media laws and Ethics- Laws are in place to restrict people from reporting things which may damage or harm other people or organisations. Ethics means doing what is ethically and morally right, regardless of what the law says. To make sure we don't break any of the laws and stay ethical we will:  Double check our sources  Avoid subterfuge  Respect peoples privacy Give those criticised a ' right of reply' ...
