Branding

Branding is the process of giving a meaning to specific organisation, company, products or services by creating and shaping a brand in consumers' minds.

Branding for artists is important as good branding reveals the artists style, interests, personality which aligns with their music, beliefs and overall message they may be trying to get across to their audience.

An album cover, profile picture, website bios or merchandise can help people to recognise the artist without seeing them.

Skepta

Skepta uses branding through his collaboration with Nike, to create his own shoe which is available for purchase to his fans. Skepta follows trends of popular style of shoes e.g. Air max 97s. This has helped Skepta to put his name out in the fashion industry as long with the music industry

Skepta also released his own alcohol brand called, ' Havana club'. This has also fixed his identity into the alcohol industry and party scene which helps promote his brand to teenagers/young adults who use social media most, which allows them to share their opinions of his items.

Fans of Skepta, can now wear Skepta's shoes and drink his own drink that he made.

The shoes and drink are both unique, with bright colours used to really stand out to people, and if people see these items then they know straight away that it is Skepta's, and can make people relate to each other just by an item that they both relate with or recognise.

Jay-Z

Jay-Z founded entertainment company called Roc Nation and they're releasing new brand and multimedia platform.
