As my group and I chose a dance genre song to make a music video to, our product represents social groups, mainly teenagers who enjoy to party.  This is represented through the use of alcohol as props and the settings we decided to use, especially the party scene. Our music video represents social issues, such as alcohol use, even though we did not consume it, in the party scene, alcohol is dangerous and a social issue as some people feel it is the only way to have fun. This is a problem as teenagers are starting to drink at a younger age, especially at parties where they are surrounded by their friends and will be convinced to drink at a young age by their friends, this is because alcohol is seemed not dangerous to them, when in fact it can be very dangerous if you drink too much or start at a young age can lead to many long term health issues.   Mesmerised Bru-C music video This image is from Bru-C's video, he follows stereotypical conventions in his video, which can be seen through his use of props, as can be seen he is using DJ decks, which are a common feature in a dance genre video as artists can often be seen using these to play there songs in videos. We are going to follow these conventions in our video, as we will be using decks in certain shots, to try and replicate certain clips of Bru-C's video. We are following conventions so audiences are able to identify our video  belongs to the dance genre with not necessarily hearing of the artist before watching the video as well as to target a certain demographic. This is another image taken from Bru-C's video, where again he can be seen to be following conventions, as this is another stereotypical shot that is seen in dance videos of artists performing to a crowd.   Logo Design When coming up with a logo, these were some of the designs we were thinking of choosing. In the end, we decided to use the middle logo. 

 

  Editing Process Over the course of the editing process, I documented the progression in editing from start to finish.  In this first image, this was at the very start of the editing process. Here we were just importing the clips into premier pro, labelling them and putting them in order. We did this so each clip was easy to find when we needed it. This helped to speed up the process and made us more organised when editing.  Next, we started to add clips to the timeline. In this photo you can see the finished timeline with all clips in and the audio also added in. The main challenge we came across in this part was synchronising the clips to the audio so that it looked clean. This part of the editing process was by far the most lengthy and hardest due to the number of clips we added.  After all the clips were in place and we were happy with it, we added the graphics at the start.   The backstory  Our music video is aimed to show the audience how the main character (Bru-C) and his friends are living their lives and having fun. We want to show the audience a range of different locations where the characters will be pictured to ultimately show this idea of freedom. The storyline of the video will follow as the group of friends going to a party, showing the journey from before they get there to when they are there. For the slower paced parts of the video and song, we want this to be where they are not at the party yet but the build up to it. This will include the car scene where they are outside the front of the house of the party. By doing this, it allows for a build up in suspense for when the beat drops and it cuts to them being in the party where the atmosphere is much more lively than before.   Digipak We have created a digital that will go along side our music video and social media page. This is a digipak made for the album 'Mesmerised', with the main song also 'Mesmerised' being the one we created a music video for.  This is the front cover of our digipak. It features the main artist of SLB9 in the centre of it. The SLB9 logo is clearly placed in the top left, to add a sense of branding to our work. The record company and also production company have been mentioned at the bottom of the cover as well.  This picture is the two pages inside the digipak. The the left hand side we have the chorus for 'Mesmerised' and on the right side we have a small text of writing giving an overview of the album and what to expect. Also on this side we have added our Instagram username and our logo in the top right. This is the back cover which displays a track list with ten tracks from within the album.
